Everyone deserves a time out and last weekend we had a fabulous one at Congham Hall http://www.conghamhallhotel.co.uk/ it was gorgeous. The location was perfect in the silent bliss of the Norfolk countryside. We stayed for one night in one of their Good House Rooms complete with king size bed, lovely waterfall shower, Nespresso machine and all the other good stuff.
We were in the building about 15 minutes before jumping into our gown and slippers and heading down to the spa. The spa consists of a swimming pool with jets that are like a water masseuse, sauna, steam rooms, foot spa’s and experience showers (I recommend the tropical rainfall – it makes thunder sounds and everything -crazy). The highlight of the spa for me though was the outdoor hot tub which we were lucky enough to have all to ourselves. It overlooks the beautiful grounds of the hotel, you can see the rabbits hopping around. It was relaxation at it’s prime.
After hours of pampering, steaming and swimming it was time for date night at the hotel restaurant, best part about date nights excluding the grub is getting ready. Dressing up for the person you spend every day with – there’s something beautiful about that.
The Food – Oh the food, it was truly amazing! It was an A la carte menu which is perfect for me as I love to have 3 courses but can never fit in 3 full size courses.
A few too many vino’s later and we forgot to snap the deserts but they were equally as delicious as the rest of the courses, maybe even the best food I have ever had (big statement I know)
It seems like a peculiar thing to say but it is sometimes nice to sleep in a bed where you feel you don’t have to be near the person your sharing with, in short a very comfortable deep sleep had by both.
We opted for breakfast in bed, why not & our eyes were definitely bigger than our bellies 😉
In conclusion our stay was incredible, for the price it was the perfect weekend getaway! We love our weekends away so if you have any you would recommend please comment and let me know, also if you have stayed at Congham Hall what did you think I would love to hear.
Catch you later,
